L’objectif, dans cet essai, est une analyse détaillée de la contradiction entre l’idée d’un « héritage national culturel » que la France a reçu des immigrés et qui s’exprime dans la Francophonie, et les difficultés d’articuler l’expérience de l’immigration dans la langue de l’immigrant. In October 2008, the Cité nationale de l’histoire de l’immigration (CNHI), was opened in the Palais Colonial de la Porte Dorée in Paris, as a national museum dedicated to the history of migration.
