Dans ce sens, la question de l’enseignement de l’allemand et en allemand ou celle de l’enseignement de et en alsacien dans les deux départements alsaciens font nécessairement partie intégrante de l’histoire sociopolitique, mais aussi idéologique, représentationnelle et subjective de toutes celles et de tous ceux qui ont façonné la société en Alsace. La question de la place de l’allemand et/ou de l’alsacien dans l’espace scolaire, notamment dans les classes de l’école primaire, sera d’abord évoquée dans son contexte diachronique, qui mène à la marginalisation programmée de l’alsacien dans le milieu scolaire. Il s’agira ensuite d’examiner leur situation dans une période plus récente (2010-2020). Les dernières décennies se caractérisent non seulement par des changements sociolinguistiques profonds dans la société, mais également, ces dernières années, par une volonté conférant une certaine complémentarité de l’allemand standard et des dialectes alsaciens, affirmée par différents acteurs (institutionnels ou non) du monde éducatif au sens large, menant de fait à d’éventuelles nouvelles fonctionnalités d’usage pour ces deux formes linguistiques. Languages are constitutive of socio-historical spaces and they constitute the speakers and/or writers living or having lived in theses spaces. In so doing, the issue of German language teaching and teaching in German or teaching Alsatian and in Alsatian in the two Alsatian departments is necessarily an integral part of this socio-political, but also ideological, representational and subjective history of those who have shaped the society in Alsace. At first, the question concerning the place of the German and/or Alsatian languages in school and especially in primary school classes will be discussed in its historical context that has led to the planned marginalization of Alsatian in the school environment. Secondly, the article will examine their more recent situation (2010-2020). The last decades are characterized not only by deep socio-linguistic changes in society but in the last few years also by the will to confer a certain complementarity to standard German and the Alsatian dialects as confirmed by different – institutional or non-institutional – actors of the wider educational community. As a consequence, potentially new usage functionalities have come up for these two linguistic varieties. Sprachen sind konstitutiv für sozio-historische Räume und für die Sprecher und/oder Schreiber, die dort leben oder gelebt haben. In diesem Sinne ist die Frage des Deutschunterrichts und des Unterrichts in deutscher Sprache bzw. die des Elsässerunterrichts oder eines Unterrichts auf Elsässisch in den beiden elsässischen Départements zwangsläufig ein wesentlicher Bestandteil dieser gesellschaftspolitischen, ideologischen, und von subjektiven Theorien durchzogenen Geschichte all derer, die die Gesellschaft im Elsass geprägt haben. Die Frage nach dem Stellenwert von Deutsch und/oder Elsässisch im schulischen Kontext, insbesondere in Grundschulklassen, wird zunächst in seinem diachronen Ablauf diskutiert, der zur programmierten Marginalisierung des Elsässischen im schulischen Rahmen führt. Danach wird ihre Situation in einem neueren Zeitraum (2010-2020) untersucht. Quel qu’en soit le résultat, l’objectif serait d’apporter une contribution à la réflexion sur l’articulation entre politique linguistique et « droits linguistiques ». By referring to three particular periods of the socio-political and linguistic history of Alsace (the Interwar years, the immediate aftermath of the Second World War, the « decade of protest » 1970-1980), we will submit to examination political discursive productions in which occur words related to « linguistic rights », « rights to language », etc., in an attempt to understand both their meaning and their scope, first in each context, then by comparing and contrasting the periods referred to.The purpose of this brief itinerary is to question these phrases from a historical and diachronic point of view in order to see if an analysis undertaken with this approach provides evidence to refine the meaning of « language rights », in particular through the use which actors make of them. Whatever the outcome, the aim would be to contribute to the reflection on the relationship between language policy and « language rights ». In drei besonderen Abschnitten der jüngeren soziopolitischen und sprachlichen Geschichte des Elsass (1919-1939; die unmittelbare Nachkriegszeit [1945-1955]; das Jahrzehnt des Protests [1970-1980]) sollen politische Texte untersucht werden, in welchen Wörtergruppen wie „sprachliche Rechte“, „Recht(e) auf Sprache“, usw. vorkommen. Es geht darum, deren Sinn und Tragweite zuerst in ihrem Kontext zu verstehen, und dann im Vergleich untereinander zu untersuchen.Durch eine solche geschichtliche und diachronische Untersuchung soll festgelegt werden, ob eine solche Art und Weise, die „sprachlichen Rechte“ anzugehen, sinnvoll ist und es erlaubt, eine bessere Kenntnis der semantischen Werte zu bekommen, die die Benutzer jenen Wörtergruppen zuschreiben.
