This article aims to include the point of view of the translator in the creation of the object Scandinavian Crime novel in France. An overview of the editorial situation is accompanied by a description of the characteristics of the genre, especially what makes it particular and unique : its very strong link with the European social novel as it developed in the 19th century and during the Modern Breakthrough period (1870-1905).
