Pour amorcer l’étude de cette question, on se concentre ici sur ses réflexions et sa pratique de l’activité de traduction, en particulier de textes français. Le contexte de publication de ses traductions, dont un exemple marquant est particulièrement mis en lumière, fait ressortir son implication dans des réseaux intellectuels actifs et son engagement social. À la lumière de ses réflexions théoriques et au vu de sa pratique concrète, ses traductions apparaissent comme une partie intégrante de son œuvre créatrice, contribution consciente et engagée aux circulations littéraires internationales. Based on a reading of Carry van Bruggen’s articles on ‘modern literature’, recently translated into French, this contribution raises the question of her role in cultural transfers as well as in literary and publishing networks with an international dimension. To begin our study of this question, we focus here on her reflections on and practice of the activity of translation, particularly of French texts. The context in which her translations were published highlights her involvement in active intellectual networks and her social commitment.
