Les femmes en détention sont constamment occultées des études carcérales. Myriam Joël-Lauf étudie les différents mécanismes de cette marginalisation en envisageant la prison comme le « miroir grossissant » de notre société. L’affection entre les détenu·es n’est jamais réellement prise en compte dans ces recherches androcentriques. À l’inverse, elle devient un objet de fantasme sexiste et homophobe dans l’imaginaire collectif : en l’absence des hommes, les détenu·es entretiendraient des rapports lesbiens perçus comme déviants et pathologiques. Par ailleurs, l’institution les incite à se conformer au modèle de la mère et de l’épouse parfaite afin de les préparer, voire de les conditionner, à jouer le rôle attendu à leur sortie vers l’ordre social normatif. Toute autre situation est jugée illégitime. Face à cette domination et ce contrôle, des formes de résistance et d’autodétermination émergent. J’étudie, par le biais d’œuvres photographiques, comment les détenu·es s’émancipent et réaffirment leurs subjectivités à travers des gestes d’amour propre et des liens solidaires. In this article, I focus on affective relationships in women’s prisons, questioning their subversive potential. Incarcerated women are mainly absent from carceral studies. Myriam Joël-Lauf analyzes the mechanisms of marginalization and considers prison as a “magnifying mirror” of our society. Affective ties between inmates are rarely taken into consideration in androcentric research. In reverse, they often become objects of sexist and homophobic fantasy in the collective imagination: in the absence of men, women are supposed to engage in lesbian relationships perceived to deviant or pathological. Moreover, the institution induces inmates to conform to the roles of ideal mothers and wives in order to prepare—or to condition—them to reintegrate into normative social order. Any other situation is considered illegitimate. In response to this domination, forms of resistance and determination emerge. De plus, la prolifération des catcheuses dans les matchs intergenres semble régulièrement s’accompagner d’une déstructuration des espaces d’expressions qui donnent corps au catch féminin, notamment par la progressive disparition d’une division féminine à part entière. This article examines the figure of the female wrestler as a lens through which to interrogate the strategies of inclusion employed within ambivalent intergender wrestling configurations. While these configurations may appear to elevate female wrestlers, such recognition often hinges on their capacity to confront male opponents on equal footing.
