https://www.ouvroir.fr/rrs/index.php?id=82 Cette contribution porte, d’une part, sur une région française emblématique du développement industriel de la fin du xixe siècle et des trois premiers quarts du suivant – la Lorraine – et, d’autre part, sur deux secteurs de production non moins emblématiques du processus d’industrialisation : l’extraction du minerai de fer ainsi que la sidérurgie. Elle aborde la période 1963-2013, des grandes grèves de mineurs jusqu’aux problèmes récents du groupe sidérurgique Arcelor- Mittal à Florange-Hayange. This contribution will focus on the one hand, on Lorraine, an emblematic region of the french industrial development from the end of the 19th century to the 1970’s, and, on the other hand, on two industrial sectors equally emblematic of the process of industrialisation: iron ore mining as well as iron and steel. It covers the period 1963-2013, from the major miners strikes to the recent problems of the Arcelor Mittal group.
